Purim - the Jewish holiday that is
a cross between the debacle of Mardi Gras
and the fun of Halloween

-  According to an article on
the Top Five NYC Purim Plays + Parties
in this week's  Time Out New York

"On this holiday , you're commanded to get so drunk that you don't know the difference between right and wrong"

says Amy Golding-Eichenwald,
executive director of the New Shul,
a progressive Greenwich Village Temple
that puts on a yearly Purim extravaganza
that includes professional drag queens,
mixed with congregants dress in costume

- of course you also can't tell
who are the boys and who are the girls

- the costumes and revelry is just that good !!
